I'm an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Alberta. I was previously Postdoctoral Fellow in Sociology at Colby College. I completed my PhD in the Department of Sociology at McGill University, where I was also a trainee at the Centre on Population Dynamics.
My work considers the labor market as both an engine and site of social transformation. To this end, my recent work has documented sexual orientation inequality in the labor market, the importance of job loss in spurring geographic mobility, and the impact of labor market transitions on health in later life.
